Just to give an example of
one hosting company we know offering reseller 40GB for Rs. 14000
per year
* They charge for everything else not listed. (Like accounts
migration from other servers upto US$5 per domain).
* Email only support which takes a long time to get a simple
reply.
* Email throughput restricted to 600 mails per domain per hour.
So if you plan to host 100 email accounts on their server there
will be 50% dropped outgoing emails. (We have a limit of 2000
mail server domain.)
* Frequent mail server over load issues.
* FTP upload restricted to just 9.5Kps while customers on our
servers get load speeds upto 512kbps.
* useless Antispam system which will fill up mailboxes. (We
have a strong Antispam system which takes out 90% of spams before

* Servers are hosted behind throttled backbone. So the machine
cannot go beyond a threshold of 256kbps. Thats pathetic; even
our broadband connection is 2mbps in India. Throttling backbone
prevents server from overloading and subsequent crashing.[We
host on a 100mbps burstable backbone.]
* The height is they frustrated us so much that we have managed
to only host just 500MB of data in the 40GB plan. Most wouldn't
even need 100MB. then why pay Rs. 14000 when we can provide
100MB for 2800.
Being practical can save you Rs.11200. But if you look at it
the other way. It gives you a satisfaction of having 40GB virtual
space by paying Rs. 11200 extra.
